By creating an account or using Georaf, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service. We may update these terms. We'll post the updated version on this page and update the "last updated" date. Where changes are material, we'll notify you by email. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

3. The service

Georaf is a web-based platform for uploading, converting, validating, and visualizing geospatial data. We provide:

  • Conversion between common geospatial and tabular file formats
  • Data health checks and auto-fix
  • Interactive map visualization
  • Embeddable maps
  • A RESTful API on paid plans where included

The current list of supported formats and features is published in our documentation.

Georaf Landplot is our free iOS and Android mobile companion. It does not require an account and stores all data locally on your device.

4. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when registering. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. You must be at least 18 years old to use Georaf. One person per account. No shared accounts.

5. Plans and payment

Free plan

The free plan is subject to the usage limits described on our pricing page and is provided "as is" with no uptime guarantee. We may modify or discontinue the free plan with reasonable notice.

Paid plans

Paid plans are billed via Stripe at the frequency shown on the pricing page. Any applicable taxes will be shown at checkout. Subscriptions auto-renew. You can cancel anytime from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds.

14-day cooling off

If you're a consumer, you have 14 days from purchase to cancel for a full refund under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. By starting to use the service and checking the consent box during signup, you acknowledge that you request immediate access and waive your right to cancel once the service has been provided.

6. Your data

You own your data. Everything you upload remains yours. We don't claim any ownership over your files, datasets, or content.

You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display your data solely to provide the service. This licence ends when you delete your data or close your account.

You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload any data you submit. Don't upload data that infringes third-party rights, contains personal information without proper consent, or violates any applicable law.

7. Acceptable use

Don't use Georaf to:

  • Upload illegal, harmful, or fraudulent content

  • Redistribute data obtained through the platform without authorization
  • Upload location data that identifies individuals without their consent
  • Circumvent usage limits or rate limits

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these rules.

8. API usage

Where API access is included with your plan, API keys are confidential. Do not share them. Each key is tied to your account. Usage is subject to rate limits, which may vary by plan. We may revoke API access for misuse. We will give reasonable advance notice before deprecating API versions.

9. Intellectual property

We own all rights to the Georaf platform, including the software, design, branding, and documentation. Your subscription gives you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service during your subscription term. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the platform.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose
  • We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption
  • We don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.

If you're a consumer, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not affected.

11. Account termination

To close your account and have your data deleted, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We will action the request within 30 days. After deletion we may retain billing records and basic account identifiers for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law.

We may terminate your account with reasonable notice, or immediately if you materially breach these terms.

12. Data processing

We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Where required by data protection law and where we process personal data on your behalf, we will enter into a data processing agreement with you on request.

13. Events beyond our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures in performing our obligations under these terms caused by events outside our reasonable control, including outages of our infrastructure or payment providers, government action, natural disasters, war, or industrial action. If such an event affects the service for an extended period, either of us may terminate the subscription.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you retain the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.

15. General
