How to do it

  1. Open the Converter page.
  2. Drop a file onto the upload zone, or click to browse.
  3. Pick the format you want.
  4. Optional: leave Also run a quality check ticked. It’s free. See How the quality score works for what gets checked.
  5. Click Convert.
Conversion takes a few seconds for small files, up to a couple of minutes for large ones. You’ll see it appear in Recent Conversions with a spinner. When it’s done, click Download.

What can go wrong

  • “Could not detect file format”: we look at the extension. Make sure the file ends in .geojson, .json, .kml, .kmz, .shp, or .zip.
  • “File exceeds X MB limit”: your plan caps file size. Upgrade or split the file.
  • “Monthly conversion limit reached”: you’ve used your monthly allowance. Upgrade or wait for the reset.

Plan limits

  • Free: 5 conversions per month, files up to 1 MB.
  • Pro: unlimited conversions, files up to 25 MB.
  • Team: unlimited conversions, files up to 50 MB.
